Community Partnerships
Throughout our communities we work with charitable organisations, take leading roles in supporting fundraisers and maintain strong relationships with our partners.
We are constantly evaluating how we can play a meaningful role in aiding organisations whose values and cultures mirror our own. Our people, our facilities, our retail branches and our suppliers all play their part in creating innovative initiatives that raise vital funds.
Tirlán is also proud to directly support our communities through donations of funding and product via our branches and facilities where we have active fundraising and engagement networks.
Real Impact
In 2024 Tirlán and its employees have chosen Aware as their charity partner. As part of the partnership arrangement, many of Tirlán’s network of over 2,000 employees fundraise for the mental health charity. Tirlán also make a corporate donation to support Aware’s invaluable work in communities nationwide.
The partnership will also raise awareness of the essential role Aware plays in Ireland today, as the national organisation supporting people impacted by depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety and related mood conditions. In 2025, Tirlán employees, suppliers and Members came together to raise over €102,000 for our charity partner, Aware. This funding has already supported 6,800 calls to Aware’s Support Line, providing vital assistance to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. This support recognises the significant impact mental health challenges have across our communities and the importance of ensuring support is available to those who need it. Tirlán’s contribution will help Aware continue to reach and support even more people across Ireland, ensuring no one faces depression alone.
Tour de Tirlán
Since its inception, Tour de Tirlán has raised substantial funds for a wide range of charities, while also strengthening the connection between Tirlán employees, suppliers and local communities. Now entering its 12th year, the event has grown into a key date in the Tirlán calendar - raising significant funds for charity while offering a great day out for participants of all fitness levels.
Tirlán Mountain Challenge
The Tirlán Mountain Challenge has become a key annual fundraising initiative for the Co-operative. In 2025, the event raised €40,000 through a one day challenge in the Wicklow Mountains, reinforcing its role in Tirlán’s wider commitment to supporting communities and wellbeing..
Community events
Tirlán sponsors many events, big and small, that are important to our communities; we also support many agricultural shows, food fairs and other events throughout the country, which are a mainstay of many rural communities.
Tirlán is also a patron of Agri Aware and a sponsor of Open Farm, welcoming visitors of all ages and backgrounds to connect with the land, animals and producers.
Beyond agriculture, Tirlán provided direct corporate donations and product support to a wide range of charitable, sporting, food and community organisations, both locally and nationally, reinforcing our commitment to the communities in which we live and work.
Tirlán provides significant financial commitment to agricultural shows and food festivals, such as Savour Kilkenny and the West Waterford Festival of Food. Tirlán is proud to continue its long‑standing tradition of supporting agricultural shows across our catchment area. These events play a vital role in rural communities, celebrating Irish farming, food and heritage. Throughout the show season, the Tirlán team engaged with local farm families, potential new entrants, government ministers and farming organisations. Each event highlighted the strong connection between Tirlán and the wider agricultural sector
Through GAIN Pet Nutrition, we deliver much needed donations to dog shelters and charities around the country. GAIN Equine Nutrition is a key supporter and sponsor of the Irish Horse Welfare Trust. In 2026 Tirlán announced the continuation of its support for RDA Ireland, reinforcing the positive impact of its partnership with the charity, which provides therapeutic horse riding and carriage driving sessions for children and adults with disabilities across Ireland.
