20 fully funded Diplomas, delivered by University College Cork will be available to Tirlán suppliers each year.

Key information about the Diploma is outlined below:

Diploma title Diploma in Environment, Sustainability and Climate
How many Diploma places are available? 20 fully funded Diploma places are available each year, as part of the Sustainable Farming Academy.
Who will deliver the course? University College Cork (UCC) will deliver the accredited and fully-funded Diploma to 20 farmer suppliers each year.
Is the Diploma recognised  by the national qualifications standards? Yes, students whom successfully complete the Diploma will graduate with a level 7 Diploma, recognised by the National Framework for Qualifications.
Is the Diploma part-time?

Yes, the Diploma is part-time. It will run for one academic year (September-August), commencing September 2024.

The majority of the Diploma will be delivered on-line, with some field visits.

UCC will endeavour to deliver most of the teaching during the times of the year which are less busy, understanding demands around calving time, etc.

Is there recognition of current education & training? Yes, the duration of the Diploma has been reduced to one academic year. This is because UCC has deemed that some of the modules required are already completed due to current training and requirements, such as nutrient management planning requirements, use of LESS, measuring grass covers, etc.
Who is eligible to apply for the Diploma? Applications for this fully funded Diploma can be made by Tirlán Co-op members whom are 21 years of age and older.
How to apply for the Diploma. All suppliers interested in completing the Diploma are required to fill-out an expression of interest form, which can be found by clicking on this link here http://www.ucc.ie/en/ace/tirlan - Expression of Interest Form
When do Expressions of Interest applications have to be completed by? All suppliers interested in the Diploma are requested to have their Diploma Expression of Interest forms completed on-line and returned to UCC by 28TH June 2024.
