Tirlán Co-op donates €5,000 to Embrace FARM
Tirlán, has donated €5,000 to Embrace FARM, Ireland’s national support network for farm families affected by sudden death or serious injury, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to farm safety and rural wellbeing.
The donation was presented to Brian Rohan, founder of Embrace FARM, and will help support the charity’s vital work providing practical support to farm families across Ireland. Embrace FARM was founded in 2014 and has supported hundreds of families through some of the most difficult circumstances they may face.
Tirlán Chairperson Ger O’Brien said the donation reflects the co-operative’s commitment to supporting farming families and promoting a strong culture of farm safety.
“Farm safety remains one of the most important issues facing our sector. While we all work hard to make our farms safer places to live and work, the reality is that accidents can and do happen. Embrace FARM provides invaluable support to families dealing with the devastating impact of serious injury or loss on the farm.
“As a farmer-owned co-operative, Tirlán understands the challenges faced by farm families and we are proud to support the work of Embrace FARM. Their compassion, advocacy and practical assistance make a real difference to people at a time when they need it most, and we are pleased to contribute to that important work.”
Embrace FARM supports farm families through a range of services, including peer-to-peer support, counselling, advocacy, and community engagement initiatives. The organisation also works to raise awareness of farm safety and wellbeing across rural Ireland.
The donation forms part of Tirlán’s wider commitment to supporting rural communities and promoting health, safety and wellbeing across its farming network.
